Start of the trip. . .

Hello, Everyone. . .

We're off to see the Wizard. To Alameda, that is, for a talk tomorrow evening at Books Inc. Then a few days meandering around Santa Cruz, the Bay Area, Marin, and Petaluma. Then north for talks (plus visiting Dan's relatives) in Oregon and Washington. And after that, east. Along the way we'll share photos (if we can figure out how to include them), and other sights, sounds and experiences along the route. PLEASE JOIN IN - we welcome any comments. And want to keep up with YOUR news as our trusty 1987 Jeep Cherokee bumps along across America. Love to you all, DB and JJ.

Hey DB & JJ,

It's your long lost (or perhaps just lost) friend Hayward here, who can't find a way to get ahold of you, other than this blog. My email program keeps dumping things in the wrong box, like junk. Stupid.

What's this about Santa Cruz? Are you staying with the ex? (I think I have her number) What days?

Life is kicking my ass. And why they hell don't you have a cell phone yet? Especially when driving an '87 jeep cross-country?

Ms Hawks,

Our email is the same - danabes@volcano.net - we're gone from Santa Cruz, heading north to the Bay Area, then on from there. Keep trying us at the danbes address. Hugs, DB

Happy traveling you two...I just love that picture of both of you!
Have fun and stay safe!
[I agree with Ms.Hawkes-cell phone is a good idea while on the road...just pick up a pre-paid throw-away!--might be a good safety tip!] love from Ann at AnnV@AviaraRealEstate.net

My first trip to a blog (!). Guess it's just a visual diary for all to enjoy ... a lovely way to share your adventure. May your travels continue to be great. Best, Judith
